Surprise, Surprise!!

Big news, everyone!! I am so excited to announce that in March 2024, the blog will be up and active again with 2 trips happening AT THE SAME TIME. You might be wondering, how could Haley possibly be going on 2 trips at the same time, and the answer is I won't be because we will also be having the wonderful Ellie Rodgers documenting her time abroad.

Now where could we possibly be going??? Drum roll, please....

This spring break, I will be visiting family in Vietnam, and Ellie will be going to Costa Rica for a hands-on faculty directed ecology class here at Clemson. WOO HOO! Let the traveling begin.

Let's Catch Up

If you didn't know, I just spent half a year studying for the MCAT, and that was the most humbling. experience. ever. But during this time, I've once again been reminded of this amazing support system that I have.

If you are someone looking to take that mammoth of an exam in the near future, please please, PLEASE listen to this- Don't you dare let anyone compare it to the SAT or another college exam or literally anything else on this planet. It is a stressful exam, and you have every right to be stressed no matter how easy someone else might make it look. Someone told me once that you always hear about other people doing really well on these types of things, but nobody really talks about what they did to get there. Everyone suffers, promise. YOU CAN DO IT!

Vietnam

I'm expecting to show some pics of good food and cool views of the city. I think the plan is for me to be in Saigon for a few days and then Phan Thiet and then back to Saigon. I hope I'll be able to share a little glimpse of my family's culture and learn things myself along the way! Just a week trip over spring break where I'll have no time to adjust to the time difference, but I am up for the challenge. Nobody talk to me the day we get back from Spring break. Will probably be beyond jet-lagged.

Without Further Ado, Round of Applause for Ellie!

Costa Rica

Hellooooooo guys!!!!! So, I will be headed to Costa Rica this spring break for my Field Ecology class and essentially hanging out in the rainforest for a week. I'm so so excited because our class will be divided up based off of our own research proposals and actually going out to investigate them! I will mostly be in the northeastern area of Costa Rica, but also will be spending some of my (very limited) time at the beach and going on some fun excursions! Overall, I'm absolutely thrilled to be headed to a biodiversity hotspot and telling y'all all about it!
