Quick Reflection In The Airport

In the Atlanta airport....

We've got a little bit of a layover here, so I thought it would be interesting to reflect a little about how I'm feeling now so we can compare that to when I get back!

What am I most excited about?

Guelaguetza. What is so special about going to Oaxaca at this time of year is that we will have the chance to experience Guelaguetza!

What am I most nervous about?

Probably my language skills. I think I've gotten to the point in my Spanish studies where I've learned a lot of advanced stuff, but I've forgotten a lot of the basics...if that makes sense? I feel like I also haven't used my Spanish in any natural setting before, so that'll be interesting!

What do I hope to get out of this trip?

I hope to gain insight into how culture and health system differences may influence patient care. This side of medicine is what got me into medicine in the first place, and I am so excited to pursue a trip that will allow me to explore just that.

I am so blessed to have the support system that I do and cannot wait to share this experience with all of you. Until my next update!
