In Cusco!!!!

Yesterday around 10:00 am I arrived in Cusco, Peru! The first thing we saw off the plane was the mountains which were beautiful. Our host family welcomed us in with tea and has already made so many great meals for us. I am living here with three other Clemson students, and the other students are with other host families all within walking distance of each other. Some interesting things I've found...

- So many dogs! There are a lot of dogs just out and about and a good amount of them wear little shirts and sweaters and it's so cute.

- It is pretty chilly here and gets really cold at night, so some of us are wearing layers and layers and jackets to bed.

- Food = yum! The first day our host families were instructed to ease us into the food, so we haven't had anything too elaborate but what I've had so far has been really yummy. This includes chicken soup, this bread and cheese combo with guacamole on top, and today for breakfast we had fruit & yogurt with some sort of cereal on top. I wish I knew the technical terms of what everything was called haha.

Also, our host family includes a grandmother, her daughter, and her kids. Her kids are so cute & took us to the supermarket and told us about herself even though our Spanish isn't too good; she helped us all out!

Today we are doing orientation and getting ready for our Education Day tomorrow where we are going to teach kids the importance of brushing their teeth and having them make their own toothpaste! We are also going to explore the plaza!
